Most days I take a hike by the river. At this time of year the salmon are returning home. Their tenacity inspires me; they know where they’re going and nothing stops them. Yeah, I know they are going to die after spawning, but aren’t we all swimming toward that end? Think of their journey: they go on adventures, overcome obstacles, enjoy a little romance, make babies and when they die, they enrich their habitat with nutrients.
The way I see it, in addition to being delicious with mayo on whole wheat, they are philosophical little creatures. They suggest we dive into life, see the world, swim our hearts out, make sweet connections, go against the current and do something that leaves the world a little better.
I have always admired the noble salmon, tasty and committed to home. Love this post.
Noble is a good word choice for them, and I’m grateful for their nourishment of both body and spirit:-)
Another wonderful page to delight and inspire me sister dear. The detail on the fish is amazing!
How the salmon manage that struggle in the water is as mind blowing as your ability to produce this beautiful journal page whilst painting and redecorating your writing nook.
Lets just say, if the salmon came upon the obstacles I’ve created they’d likely take another tributary. Onward and upwards. Maybe by next week my desk will be in it’s new home:-)
Oh wow!! I love these fish – I stand by my previous statement you should sell the artwork on your pages as prints!! Sign me up for this page please!
I think I will leave drawing to the professionals (ahem). You can fish through my journals anytime and keep whatever you catch.
I agree with Sare ! you really should sell this awesome artwork
I don’t know about sell, but I’m happy to share.
