My journal is where I go to reweave dark threads with lighter ones. This week had me scribbling some thoughts on autumn.
Sometimes, letting go is healthy, necessary, liberating and–scary…
Walking along the shore today, I followed this leaf, snatched from its branch by the wind. As it looped and skated through the air, I realized the leaf didn’t let go, it was released. It didn’t choose its destination, it was dropped where the lake licked it up.
Life happens. Change, like the shedding of leaves, is inevitable. Right now, I find myself riding the wind. My choices? Resist all the way down, or, enjoy the view and sweeping dance. See the place I land as cold and stony, or, the beginning of a great new adventure.
I’ll let you know where the wave takes me.
